Dad's Are Fun

What would a weekend with dad be without someone getting hurt... I mean without having tons of fun!

Kyle must be thinking "Well I haven't hurt him yet so let's see if this will do it" at this point mom starts getting mad and all the bikes get put away. Mom sure knows how to ruin a good/unsafe time!

Dad stole Adia's bike so she had to borrow Avery's.

CRAZY Camera Moments

I love that every year we send out a picture of our kids all smiling and looking happy and nobody gets to hear what I'm saying to get such big smiles. Things like "Kenyon if you don't look at me you are going to get a spanking" or "Adia quit trying to help and just stay looking at me" or "Avery no you can not have a snack right now" or best of all "Hold Adison down. I don't care if she cries."

Here are a couple of our failed attempts this year:

Here are some cute shots that don't take so many threats since my kids LOVE to pose... if you are wondering how my kids turned out to be so in love with modeling that would have to come from Stacey and Kyle's sister's influence. So not something I passed on to them!

We are all very happy and can't wait to meet the little guy!

Happy to Homeschool

3rd grade curriculum... $800.00
Pre-school curriculum (that we don't use)... $500.00
Tylenol for all the headaches related to school... $15.00
Homeschool Moments like below... PRICELESS

This next picture is of my class at co-op. Co-op is every Friday with about 60 homeschool kids and thier families. We break them into school age groups and the moms take turns teaching different classes. It's a lot of fun for the kids and the moms get to enjoy time together to share ideas and encouragement. This semester I am teaching on holiday history and traditions. It has been a lot of fun and I love my class! Adia also has a nutrition and food science class this semester. That mom used to be a nutritionist and has taught the kids a lot of great stuff.

Teeter Totters are Fun!

With only 4 kids in the house and a medium amount of noise (kind of) we figured we should add something that would add a little more chaos...and it worked. Adia can not go on this without a really loud giggle, Avery and Kenyon have to scream and Adison has to have a tantrum when she either a. wants to be done or b. you tell her she is done and she disagrees. Mark my words, someone is going to brake a bone this year! So far we have only had minor injuries but the kids are getting more and more creative as to what you can do with this thing. I say a broken bone will be worth it because Teeter Totters are so FUN!

Babysitter From Heaven!

This is a glimpse of my wonderful babysitter with my kids. Her name is "Ms. Sarah" and our whole family loves her! She came on Wednesday with a cute project for the kids and they all had so much fun. She is always full of life and energyand words of encouragement for everyone. Today she called me to say that when she added her hours it was way more than normal and she wasn't comfortable accepting that much money. I apologized for working her so much and she said "how about when I work more than 8 hours in a day we consider it volunteering and the days you had me take the kids to co-op we don't count because well it just cost you too much and I enjoy it." I told her that she is worth every penny and we are so blessed to have her but she was still uncomfortable with us spending too much on her so she said she would recalculate in the "volunteer hours" and send me what I owe her later. This girl is an angel. At 18 years of age she is living her life for God in every since and I am amazed at how much I trust her. She answers Adia's questions better than myself sometimes. Okay I could go on forever but really I have a babysitter/nanny from heaven and I couldn't be more thankful!

A Lesson in Forgiveness!

I think God uses our kids to teach us so much. I'm honestly cracking up (inside) at my two crazy kids and their crazy friendship. So this morning they walk up to me looking as you see in the picture with my camera in hand and want me to go outside and take pictures of them together. They had the pose in mind and all I had to do was snap. What is funny about this is that about an hour earlier I had to break up a bathtime brawl that surely would have ended with a death. From what I gather Kenyon dumped the shampoo in the water to make bubbles and Avery was punishing him for his sins (dad makes it very clear that wasting shampoo is about as bad as it gets). It's amazing to me how much these two go at it and then are best friends. Every day it goes like this...huge fight, best friends, Avery screaming and Kenyon has scratch marks all over, back to best friends, now Avery has a bite mark and Kenyon is saying it's her fault and so the cycle continues day after dady. Now I'm not saying that I think I should treat people, especially loved ones, like that but if only I could forgive so easily. After a couple spankings and a prayer I usually ask them to apologize and instantlly they will always hug, kiss, say sorry and run off together reunited as best friends. If only I could get over the dumbest things so easily (let alone if someone beat me up on a daily basis) and always see people as the blessing they are in my life even if they hurt me because I'm sure I've hurt them too.

Blogging Season Begins (in my life)

I've so enjoyed my sister-in-laws blogging and getting to see updates on all they have going on that I've given in and decided to enter this world as well. I guess the fact that I've been super sick and in bed for a few weeks has helped too. I'm so bored!
