Kaden and Me

In true Middleton fashion Kaden is CRAZY! He pulls himself to standing all the time, he crawls and scoots all over, he is hyper, he is demanding and he is crazy CUTE! Can somebody get the message to him that he is barely 6 months. I think Kaden might even beat Kenyon's walking record of 8 months and a week. We shall see. Is it possible to start walking at 7 months? Today in the same place I took this picture he let go with both hands then started crying because he didn't know what to do. Soon after gravity decided for him and pulled him over... what is going on?

And this is a family picture to show that I really do exist. Several people have made comments to me about being in hiding on here and although I totally think my reasons are good... obviously it bothers everyone else and I am trying to be "not of this world" and not care that I look how I look. This is a picture we took at the pumpkin patch on Sunday about 5 minutes before my camera battery died and I cried. I'm such a dork!

Good Times!

We love the bike park! Well I wouldn't say I love it but I do love watching the kids and Kyle love it. Here is a few cute shots from our fun Sunday outing! They choose this place over The river, the movies and a nature walk.

View of Bike Park so you get a feel for what they are riding around on.
Kenyon was in trouble (of course) when we got there and this was such a cute shot of him dreaming of being one of the big boys!
Avery may just be our most talented biker... she is crazy fast out there. And LOVES it!
This was our 4th time at the park and Adia finally built up the courage to take on the big hill (followed by the big downhill) and she did great... next time she has to do a jump!
Kenyon was out of trouble and into the park... so fun. He had a flat tire for a month and when he got on his bike he asked dad "why did you shrink my bike"... Kyle explained that he grew and then he came in the house and told me "Mom I grew and so it shrunk my bike"... that is why he is on Avery's big bike.
Here is the beautiful (and fussy) cheerleader! And the most handsome boys in town!

When we got home Kaden decided it was his turn to play and had a splash attack in the tub! He is so CUTE!!!!!!!!!

Honor Him Always

Most of you know but some that see this blog may not... I have a HUGE passion for learning creative and fun ways to Honor God in all our holidays, life events and parties. It breaks my heart at times that God is left out of all the fun (even days that are supposedly all about Him) and only included in the churchy stuff. So with that in mind I am creating a resource for families to learn fun ways to incorportate the truth of God's love and his message into our special events. Let's learn together how to Honor Him Always and impress that on our children's hearts. Check out my new Holiday resource... God willing someday this will be a book and a more organized website. Be patient with me and check back in often as I will be adding regularly.

If you have any fun traditions your family does please share with me! Don't forget that God loves a cheerful giver, a fun family, a good host and a great party! Let's not leave Him out!

Poor Little Guy!

This picture describes perfectly my little boy's life being the youngest of 5! I'm so sorry Kaden... I love you and hope we don't cause you too much damage in the process of getting a little bigger! I'm sure it won't be long until you can hold your own with them. Oh and now you know what I mean by saying looks can be decieving about Adison... this picture captures the reality of her personality! SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life and God and His Word

Sometimes life is hard. People we love are suffering, friends and family let us down, we physically hurt, we fail and we stress iver that and so much more. But even in the midst of it all God is good and He is faithful and I have really been trying hard to focus on Matthew 11:28-30 lately. I need to learn how to let God truly carry me and be my source of strength. I know overall my life is amazingly blessed and usually that is what I choose to share on this blog. But I don't feel like the real Amy if I don't also share that I have so many struggles and so many weaknesses. There are times when I feel like I just don't measure up and I want so badly to be a better person. Someone who loves more, gives more and thinks less of my own issues and more of the worlds. So as Reformation Day approaches and I think about how to impress on my children's hearts the significance of us having God's word in our homes and hearts and the freedom we have in this country to worship God however we feel led I just thought it would be a good time to share one piece of the Bible that has really been on my heart lately. I'd love to know what part has been on yours!

Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Yeah for the words of Jesus in our times of need!
...and in our times of great joy as well!

Happy Birthday Hubby!!!

Kyle turned 29 on Sunday and we had a lot of fun celebrating his last year of youthfulness. We all think our husbands are the best and so I am not trying to compete with anyone saying that Kyle is the best in the world but there is no doubt in my mind that he is absolutely the best for me!!! He is has taught me so much, held my hand during so many tough times and loved me unconditionally through more than you could imagine! Kyle is an amazing father, fabulous friend and truly a wonderful person who is so commited to growing closer to God and his family... I could not ask for more. I praise God for allowing me to journey through life with a partner like him. I hope I can learn to love him better and show him how truly honored I am to have the title of being Mrs. Kyle Middleton.

Here are a few pictures of us celebrating "Dad" with the kiddos. Adia and Avery planned a little party without my help and before Kyle and I went on our date they hosted a fabulous little family party... way to go girls!

Adia was the party DJ

The 1st game was Birthday American Idol and dad was the judge.

she wasn't so thrilled that her turn was over

The 2nd game was "Best Birthmark".

can you see the birthmarks we cut out in hopes ours was the best match. Kyle is stalling pulling up his shirt and matching them up because he didn't want a picture of his abs displayed online (he knew I would blog that for sure!).

3rd was "Bride and Groom/Mummy"

4th and finally we ended with a relay race that of course dad won!

Happy Birthday Kyle! I love you!
